Renowned for his unique insight and knowledge of the physical and emotional body, yoga teachers from as many as three continents have cited Max Strom as one of the most important influences in their teaching and yoga life. His 200-hour training and study course is designed to instruct you in the fundamentals and subtleties of teaching Yoga as a system of transformation and healing, as a Way of Life.

 

The complete 200-hour curriculum encompasses Max’s vinyasa style yoga, anatomy of movement, sequencing, and both eastern and western philosophy, and can be found on www.maxstrom.com. You must first complete the Foundations segment prior to moving on to the other 3 segments, which may be done in any order.

Requirements/Certificate:

You must first have completed the Foundation Segment – Building the Temple. All students who complete the training will receive a certificate of 42 hours with Max Strom. Completion of 200 hours of training with Max Strom is required before a Yoga Alliance certificate is awarded.

 

Course Description:
Inner World - The internal journey of teaching yoga begins with the mysteries of awakening the conscience, presence, and the power of forgiveness. Topics also covered in this course, energetic healing, philosophy, breath work, concentration, and meditation.

 

Outer World – Topics covered include essential teaching methods, tapas, sequencing, depth perception, injury prevention, restoratives, and hands-on adjustments for both stiff and flexible bodies. Becoming a safe teacher.

CERTIFIED KIDS YOGA TEACHER TRAINING

Great training for educators, parents, yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, and pediatric professionals

 

Certificate of completion provided. 

Each course is approved for 10 CE credits with Yoga Alliance. 

 

Sat/Sun August 8th-9th (Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-2pm)

Focusing primarily on children ages 3-7, this course will give you the tools you need to create your own yoga program for this age group.

 

Sat/Sun September 26th-27th (Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 11am-2pm)

Focusing primarily on children ages 8-18, the training enables you to engage older kids in the foundations of yoga while having fun. 

 

 

  • Guidelines for teaching children in above age groups
  • Game and songs, asana (poses) and movement
  • Meditation practices appropriate for children
  • Methods to stimulate the brain
  • How to lesson plan, sequence and lead fun, creative and educational yoga classes
  • Ideas for incorporating art, music, books, props and storytelling

About Natalie Stawsky, ERYT500, CYT - Natalie started her teaching career in Los Angeles, California, where she worked with the Impact Foundation, bringing yoga to children of underserved communities and schools.  She also worked for two years at The Accelerated School of South Central Los Angeles, as the outreach coordinator and teacher's mentor of Imagine/Yoga for kids, bringing yoga to inner city youth at various schools, churches and community centers.  Natalie worked with ex-gang members of East Los Angeles using yoga as a tool to help them find determination and equanimity to finish high school in a chaotic environment.  Natalie's classes include art exploration and journaling to help children find their inner voices, use their imagination and build self-esteem.

Rasa Center is located in Medford, at the base of the beautiful foothills leading to the Oregon Cascades. We are a short distance from Ashland and Jacksonville. We shuttle to and from Ashland each day for teacher trainings. As such, if you are visiting from out of town, please let us assist you with your travel plans.

 

We have blocked out a group of rooms at the Bard's Inn and the Stratford Inn, but due to Shakespeare and high tourist season, we ask that you register for the teacher training and book your room as early as possible.  Both hotels are in scenic downtown Ashland. 

Mention the group name 'Rasa Yoga Center' when booking to receive preferred rate.  Rates will vary depending on time of year, but will generally fall between $100-$160/night.
